Film sound workshop
(accessible also to visually impaired participants)
The goal of this event is to answer questions on the function of sound in audiovisual creation.
Film sound is built in relation to image, creating an acoustic space in which communication is realised. Can we replace the story element in the picture with sound, even without words? Apart from descriptive narration, what does sound speak to us about and what can it say all at once in one moment? Is sound universal for all people in creating narrative and associative perceptions?
At the event, samples from films will be listened to, and through an open analysis of auditory perception, we will try to gain a deeper understanding of the language in which films speak to us.
The workshop will be led by sound master and teacher of the Film Faculty of VŠMU, doc. Dušan Kozák, ArtD.
